On October 15, 1998, the USPS issued their secular Holiday stamp, actually a set of four different spectacular Wreaths. Shown here is a genuine First Day Cover, an envelope with the Colonial Wreath stamp cancelled from the city of issue (Chirstmas, Michigan) on the first day of issue captioned above.
The full-color cachet (artwork on the envelope) shows a festive wreath depicting various botanical material--- fruit, dried flowers, pinecones, magnolia leaves and berries. This is a modern version of the wreaths made in Colonial times that used natural materials. The producer of this cover also wrote a brief commentary about Colonial Christmas decorating. We have included a copy for you.
Double matted in green & white, this piece is sized to fit a standard 8 x 10 frame. ***Certificate of Authenticity Included***
