On February 8, 1993, the USPS issued an imprinted postcard with the imprint or "stamp" commemorating the 300th Anniversary of the College of William & Mary located in Williamsburg, Virginia. Shown here is a genuine First Day Cover, in this case a postcard with the imprint or "stamp" cancelled from the city of issue (Williamsburg, VA) on the first day of issue captioned above. A full frontal view of the Wren Building is featured on the "stamp."
The black & white cachet (artwork on the envelope) depicts a library scene from the college's early days. No other college can boast having four presidents (George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, James Monroe and John Tyler) as alumni!
Double matted in blue & white, it's sized to fit a standard 8 x 10 frame. ***CERTIFICATE OF AUTHENTICITY INCLUDED***
