On October 26, 1963, the USPS issued a stamp to commemorate the 100th Anniversary of City Mail Delivery. Shown here is a genuine First Day Cover, an envelope with the stamp cancelled from the city of issue (Washington DC) on the first day of issue captioned above. If the artwork on the stamp looks familiar, it's because this is one of the stamps designed by Norman Rockwell.
The black & white cachet (artwork on the envelope) shows a mail carrier and even has those famous words..."Neither snow, nor rain, nor heat nor gloom of night stays..." Collectible, historic, this is a great piece of US postal memorabilia and a must-have for any mail carrier.
Double matted in blue & white, it's sized to fit a standard 8 x 10 frame. ***Certificate of Authenticity Included***
