On May 4, 1974, the USPS issued a stamp to commemorate the 100th Running of the Kentucky Derby. Shown here is a genuine First Day Cover, an envelope with this stamp cancelled from the city of issue (Louisville, Kentucky) on the first day of issue captioned above.
The cachet (artwork on the envelope) depicting the horses making the turn with the famous twin spires in the background is repeated on the stamp as well as on the full-color art print shown above the cover. Collectible, historic this is a beautiful piece of postal stamp art to honor the Run for the Roses.
Matted in blue, it's sized to fit a standard 11 x 14 frame. ***Certificate of Authenticity Included***
