On May 4, 2004, the USPS issued a set of four stamps honoring four different American Choreographers whose contributions to Dance have had world-wide repercussions. Shown here is a genuine First Day Cover, an envelope with the Agnes DeMille stamp cancelled from the city of issue (Newark, NJ) on the first day of issue captioned above. Note the special postmark created to cancel this stamp on the first day of issue.
The cachet (artwork on the envelope) features a ballet choreographed by DeMille. The picture is printed on silk surrounded by gold embossing.
