Year of the Cock - 1945, 1957, 1969, 1981, 1993, 2005.....On December 30, 1992, the USPS issued a stamp to commemorate the Year of the Cock in the Chinese New Year. Shown here is a genuine First Day Cover, an envelope with the new stamp cancelled from the city of issue (San Francisco, CA) on the first day of issue captioned above.  All stamps in this series were designed by artist Clarence Lee, who created an innovative, yet traditional look by combining paper-cut type designs with calligraphy.

The colcor cachet (artwork on the envelope) depicts a costumed character used in New Year parades as well as a cock (rooster) and the Chinese Horoscope.

Double matted in green & white, this piece is sized to fit a standard 8 X 10 frame. ***Certificate of Authenticity Included***
