Chicago Architecture..

An Aerial view of Chicago looking south with the sun in the west casting long shadows of the buildings into Lake Michigan shows off the dramatic Hancock Center finished in 1970.  Designed by architect Bruce Graham and engineer Fazlur Khan of the firm Skidmore, Owings & Merrill, the Hancock Center was chosen as one of nine stamps to represent 'Masterworks of Modern American Architecture' - a series issued by the USPS on May 19, 2005. Not seen, but down there in the photo are the two identical 26-story apartment towers of steel and glass at 860-880 Lake Shore Drive designed by Ludwig Mies van der Rohe in 1951 - represented on the second stamp in the same aforementioned series.  Both stamps are uncancelled.

Matted in photo gray, this piece is sized to fit a standard 8x10 frame.
