Chesapeake Bay Retriever and Cocker Spaniel.....
On September 7, 1984, the USPS issued a set of four stamps celebrating Eight Dog Breeds, seven of them American (can you guess which one isn't?) The Breeds are the Beagle, Boston Terrier, Chesapeake Bay Retriever, Cocker Spaniel, Alaskan Malamute, Collie, Black & Tan Coonhound and American Foxhound. Shown here is a genuine First Day Cover with the stamp for the Cocker Spaniel and the Chesapeake Bay Retriever cancelled from the city of issue (New York City) on the first day of issue captioned above.
The full-color cachet (artwork on the envelope) features both popular dogs... the Cocker Spaniel and the Chesapeake Bay Retriever. The picture is printed on silk, the luster lending an-almost three-dimensional quality.
Double matted in green & white, it's sized to fit a standard 8 x 10 picture frame. *** Certificate of Authenticity Included***
