On February 5, 1988, the USPS issued a set of four stamps honoring eight Cat Breeds.....Abyssinian, Himalayan, Siamese, Exotic Shorthair, American Shorthair, Persian, Maine Coon, and Burmese. Shown here is a genuine First Day Cover, with all four stamps cancelled from the city of issue (New York, NY) on the first day of issue captioned above.
The cachet (artwork on the envelope) shows a little girl with four of the eight breeds, rendered in sepia tones. The cover is paired with an absolutely fun-packed print titled "A Cat's Life." Big cats, small cats, striped cats, fat cats...Cats sleeping, eating, playing, getting into mischief...Domestic cats, not so domestic cats and cute kittens... You'll love looking at this print and never grow tired of discovering something new.
Matted in blue, it's sized to fit a standard 11 x 14 picture frame. ***Certificate of Authenticity Included***
