CARNIVOROUS PLANTS 4 Stamps 1st Day Issue Postal Cover ....

On August 23, 2001, the USPS issued a set of stamps commemorating four Carnivorous Plants...the English Sundew, the Venus Flytrap, the Yellow Trumpet, and the Cobra Lily.  Shown here is a genuine First Day Issue Postal Cover, an envelope with all four stamps cancelled from the city of issue (Des Plaines, IL) on the first day of issue captioned above.

The color cachet (artwork on the envelope) features a whimsical drawing of a hapless bug - about to become dinner.

Double matted in green and white, it's sized to fit a standard 8 x 10 frame.  ***Certificate of Authenticity plus Commentary Included***
