On April 1, 1991, the USPS issued a stamp to commemorate the 100th anniversary of Carnegie Hall, designed in the ornate Neo-Italian Renaissance style. Before its move to Lincoln Center, Carnegie Hall was home to the New York Philharmonic Orchestra. Shown here is a genuine First Day Cover....an imprinted postcard with the "stamp" (the imprint is treated as if it were a separate stamp) cancelled from the city of issue (New York City) on the first day of issue (captioned above.)
The cachet (artwork on the postcard) features the interior of Carnegie Hall and the man for whom it was named. This is a collectible, historic piece of Music memorabilia
Double matted in green and white, it's sized to fit a standard 8 x 10 frame. ***CERTIFICATE OF AUTHENTICITY INCLUDED plus a short blurb on Carnegie Hall***
