On June 7, 2002, the USPS issued the Heroes Stamp to honor the victims and heroes of 9/11. Shown here is a genuine First Day Cover, an envelope with the Heroes stamp cancelled from the city of issue (in this case, New York City - this stamp actually had three cities of issue, the other two being Washington, DC and Shanksville, Pa.) on the first day of issue (captioned above.)
The comapny that produced this cover highlighted ten different professions having to do with 9/11...this one features the Commercial Airline Pilot on the cachet (artwork on the envelope.) Collectible, historic, this is a great piece of postal and aviation memorabilia.
Double matted in blue & white, we've sized it to fit a standard 8 x 10 frame. ***Certificate of Authenticity Included as well as a tribute to the Commercial Airline Pilot***
