On September 7, 1984, the USPS issued a set of four stamps celebrating Eight Dog Breeds, seven of them American (can you guess which one isn't?) The Breeds are the Beagle, Boston Terrier, Chesapeake Bay Retriever, Cocker Spaniel, Alaskan Malamute, Collie, Black & Tan Coonhound and American Foxhound. Shown here is a genuine First Day Cover with the stamp for the Chesapeake Bay Retriever and Cocker Spaniel cancelled from the city of issue (New York City) on the first day of issue captioned above.
The full-color cachet (artwork on the envelope) features a handsome Cocker Spaniel. The picture is printed on silk surrounded by gold embossing.
Double matted in green & white, it's sized to fit a standard 8 x 10 picture frame. *** Certificate of Authenticity Included***
