On July 23, 1986, Canada issued a stamp to commemorate the 50th anniversary of its Canadian Broadcasting Company, bringing television and radio to over 95% of Canada's cities with a population of over five hundred. Shown here is a genuine First Day Cover, an envelope with the new stamp cancelled from the city of issue (Ottawa) on the first day of issue captioned above. Note the special postmark featuring the logo of the CBC. The stamp depicts a computer-generated CBC logo in five different colors over a stylized map of Canada.
The color cachet (artwork on the envelope) shows a broadcaster and cameraman. The company that produced this cover has also included a brief commentary about the CBC, which we've included.
Double matted in blue & white, it's sized to fit a standard 8x10 frame. ***Certificate of Authenticity plus Commentary Included***
