On October 1, 1988, the USPS issued a set of four stamps commemorating the Carrousel Animals...the Goat, Buck, Camel and Horse.  Shown here is a genuine First Day Cover showing the Carrousel "Lead" of "King" Horse Stamp cancelled from the city of issue (Sandusky, Ohio) on the first day of issue captioned above.

The color cachet (artwork on the envelope) features a handsome Horse carved by Daniel C. Muller to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the Dentzel Co.  It is considered one of the rarest and most beautiful of carrousel animals. The company that produced this cover also wrote a short commentary about carrousel animals.  We have included a copy for you.

Double matted in green & white, it's sized to fit a standard 8 x 10 frame. ***Certificate of Authenticity Included***
