On March 22, 1985, the USPS issued a set of four stamps to commemorate Four Duck Decoys - the Broadbill, Mallard, Canvasback, and Redhead.  Shown here is a genuine First Day Cover for the Canvasback Decoy stamp cancelled from the city of issue (Shelburne, Vt. - home to the Shelbourne Museum which houses a large display of decoys) on the first day of issue captioned above.

The cachet (artwork on the envelope) features a genuine Gold Replica of the stamp mounted on a piece of velvet mat board, surrounded by a printed gold border and topped with an American Eagle.  A Gold Replica is an impression made with a soft base metal off the plate that prints the stamp. It is then coated with a thin layer of 22 ct. gold. Expensive to produce and sold only on a subscription basis, this cover came to us via someone's collection which was eventually sold off. Collectible, historic, this is a great piece of collectible art brought to you by Wall Art Collectibles.

Double matted in green & wine - the same mat on which the gold replica stamp is mounted - , it's sized to fit a standard 8 x 10 picture frame.  ***Certificate of Authenticity Included as well as a Short Commentary on Decoys and the Canvasback***
