On June 2, 1997, the USPS issued an imprinted postage postcard commemorating the Golden Gate Bridge at Sunset. Shown here is a genuine First Day Cover, a postcard with the full-color imprint or 'stamp,' depicting the Bridge with a view of the setting sun over San Francisco Bay, cancelled from the city of issue (San Francisco, CA) on the first day of issue captioned above.
The full-color cachet (artwork on the envelope produced by a private company, not the post office) features a view of the bridge with the sparkling city of San Francisco lighted up at night against the backdrop of a full moon. The producer of this cover has also written a brief commentary about the Golden Gate Bridge, which we've included.
Double matted in blue & white, it's sized to fit a standard 8x10 frame. ***Certificate of Authenticity plus Commentary Included***
