On September 8, 2000, the USPS issued a stamp commemorating the 150th Anniversary of California Statehood. Shown here is a genuine First Day Cover, an envelope with the full-color stamp, depicting the ruggedly beautiful California coast, cancelled from the city of issue (Sacramento, CA) on the first day of issue captioned above.
The full-color cachet (artwork on the envelope produced by a private company, not the post office) repeats the theme of the stamp. It's rendered in watercolors and encompasses the entire envelope.
Double matted in blue & white, it's sized to fit a standard 8x10 frame. ***Certificate of Authenticity Included***
