On June 18, 1999, the USPS issued a stamp commemorating the 150th Anniversary of the Discovery of Gold in California.  Shown here is a genuine First Day Cover, an envelope with the full-color stamp, depicting the panning of gold, cancelled from the city of issue (Sacramento, CA) on the first day of issue captioned above.

The full-color cachet (artwork on the envelope produced by a private company, not the post office) again shows miners panning for gold. The artwork is rendered beautifully in watercolors.

Double matted in blue & white, it's sized to fit a standard 8x10 frame.  ***Certificate of Authenticity Included***
