CABBAGE PATCH KIDS 1st Day Cover CABBAGE PATCH KIDS Postal Stamp.... On January 12, 2000, the USPS issued a set of fifteen stamps to commemorate the decade of the 1980's. This set was, in turn, a part of a larger set of 150 stamps called Celebrate the Century. Shown here is a genuine First Day Cover, an envelope with the stamp, depicting a female red-headed Cabbage Patch Kid, commemorating the Cabbage Patch Kids cancelled from the city of issue (Titusville, FL) on the first day of issue captioned above.
The full-color cachet
(artwork on the envelope) features an adorable picture of a little girl
surrounded by seven different Cabbage Patch Kids. From the first
Cabbage Patch Kids, hand-made by their creator Xavier Roberts,
to the mass-produced dolls made by Coleco, Cabbage Patch Kids were the
first dolls to be 'adopted' by their owners. The company that produced
this cover has also written a brief commentary about the most popular
dolls of the 1980's. Collectible, historic, it's a great way to display
your passion for Cabbage Patch Kids. Because collectors today are
remiss to break up this huge set of 150 covers, individual ones for the
more collectible subjects are getting harder to find - this is such a
cover.
Double matted in blue & white, this piece is sized to fit a standard 8 X 10 frame. ***Certificate of Authenticity plus Commentary Included***
