On September 1, 1979, the country of Liberia issued several stamps featuring artwork of the Boy Scouts by Norman Rockwell, who designed the Boy Scout calendar for many years. Shown here is a genuine First Day Cover, an envelope with the new stamp cancelled from the city of issue (Monrovia) on the first day of issue captioned above.
The full-color cachet (artwork on the envelope) mirrors the artwork on the stamp, in this case a scout taking a moment to help a "friend in need." Have you ever noticed how often Rockwell depicts dogs in his paintings?
Double matted in dark green & white, it's sized to fit a standard 8 x 10 frame. ***CERTIFICATE OF AUTHENTICITY INCLUDED***
