On May 26, 1999, the USPS issued a stamp honoring the World Champion Heavyweight Boxer of the 1950's, Rocky Marciano.  Shown here is a genuine First Day Cover, an envelope with the new stamp cancelled from the city of issue (Springfield, Mass.) on the first day of issue captioned above. This stamp is one of a set of fifteen selected to represent the decade of the 1950's in the 150 set of stamps called Celebrate the Century.

The cachet (artwork on the envelope) features a full-color  portrait of Marciano printed on silk.  Collectible, historic, can't-be--duplicated, this is a great piece of boxing memorabilia. Also included is a short historical bio of Marciano.

Double matted in blue & white, this piece is sized to fit a standard 8 x 10 frame. ***Certificate of Authenticity Included***
