On September 30, 1997, the USPS issued five stamps to commemorate Hollywood's Legendary Monsters.....Dracula, Wolf Man, the Phantom of the Opera, the Mummy, and Frankenstein, and the actors that portrayed them...Bela Lugosi, Boris Karloff, and Lon Chaney, Jr. Shown here is a genuine First Day Cover, an envelope with the stamp for Boris Karloff as Frankenstein's Monster cancelled from the city of issue (Universal City, CA) on the first day of issue (captioned above.)

The black & white cachet (artwork on the envelope) shows "The Many Faces of Boris Karloff." A career spanning almost 60 years with a legacy of close to 170 films, Boris Karloff will probably be remembered best for his role as Farnkenstein's Monster. Unaddressed, historic, and collectible, this cover is a great addition to your Monster Collection.

Double matted in blue & white, it's sized to fit a standard 8 x 10 frame.  ***Certificate of Authenticity Included***
