On May 1, 1975, the USPS issued a stamp to honor poet and novelist, Paul A. Dunbar, best known for Lyrics of Lowly Life. Shown here is a genuine FIRST DAY COVER, an envelope with the new stamp cancelled from the CITY OF ISSUE (Dayton, Ohio) on the FIRST DAY OF ISSUE captioned above.

The full-color CACHET (artwork on the envelope) features a portrait of Dunbar printed on silk surrounded by gold embossing.  This is a collectible, historic piece of Black Heritage memorabilia.

Double matted in blue & wine, it's sized to fit a standard 8 x 10 frame.   ***CERTIFICATE OF AUTHENTICITY INCLUDED***
