Dr. Bernard Revel - Yeshiva University.... On September 23, 1986, the USPS issued a stamp honoring Dr. Bernard Revel, Jewish scholar, creative thinker and master of humanities, and the centennial of the Yeshiva University. Shown here is a genuine First Day Cover, an envelope with the new stamp cancelled from the city of issue (New York City) on the first day of issue captioned above.
The green-toned cachet (artwork on the envelope) features Tannenbaum Tower from Yeshiva University,
the oldest and largest university under the Jewish auspices in America,
as well as in inset of Dr. Revel and a smaller picture of him at a
table with a menorah. This is one of several pieces of postal stamp art
celebrating Judaica offered by Postal Stamp Art. The company that produced this cover has also written a brief commentary, which we have included.
Double matted in green & white, it's sized to fit a standard 8 X 10 frame. ***Certificate of Authenticity plus Commentary Included*** |
