Bear Bryant Art Print BEAR BRYANT 1st Day Cover BRYANT Football Alabama Stamps... On August 7, 1997, Legendary University of Alabama Football Coach Bear Bryant
was honored with a second stamp. The first stamp was issued in a set
of four stamps honoring Bear Bryant along with Vince Lombardi, George
Halas and Pop Warner.A sheet of these stamps have all four coaches in
blocks of four on it; they were issued the first day of issue from
Canton, Ohio on July 25, 1997. A month later, all four stamps were
issued individually. Shown here is a genuine First Day Cover with the Bryant stamp cancelled from the city of issue (Tuscaloosa, Alabama) on the first day of issue captioned above. To tell the two stamps apart, the addition of a red line
above the coach's name indicates it is the individual stamp issued in
August. Note the special postmark "First Day of Issue at Paul W. Bryant
Museum."
The color cachet
(artwork on the envelope) shows a photo of Bryant in his signature
houndstooth check hat at an Alabama game. The company that produced this
cover has also written a short commentary about "Bear." We have
included a copy for you. In the middle are three uncancelled, collectible
stamps: A Bear Bryant stamp, the state flag of Alabama stamp issued in
the Bicentennial year, and the 100th Anniversary of Collegiate Football
issued in 1969.
Score a winning touchdown with the
final addition of a full-color art print rendered in watercolors of Bear
Bryant. It just doesn't get any better than this and you'll only find
it at Postal Stamp Art and Wall Art Collectibles!
Matted in Bama red (of course), it's sized to fit a standard 11 X 14 frame. ***Certificate of Authenticity Included*** |
