On October 16, 1981, the USPS issued two stamps to commemorate two important battles of the Revolutionary War... Yorktown and Virginia Capes bringing the war to an end. Shown here is a genuine First Day Cover, an envelope with the new stamps cancelled from the city of issue (Yorktown, Va.) on the first day of issue captioned above.

The black & white cachet (artwork on the envelope) features a portrait of General Cornwallis surrendering at Yorktown and DeGrasse blockading Cornwallis by sea. Historic, collectible, this is one of several pieces of Revolutionary War Postal Memorabilia offered by Wall Art Collectibles.

Double matted in blue & white, this is matted to fit a standard 8 x 10 frame.  ***Certificate of Authenticity Included***
