On June 25, 1977, the country of Belgium issued a stamp honoring the Flemish artist Peter Paul Rubens on the 400th anniversary of his birth. Shown here is a genuine First Day Cover, an envelope with the stamp depicting a self-portrait of the artist, cancelled from the city of issue (Antwerp) on the first day of issue captioned above. Note the unique postmark designed to cancel this stamp on its 'birthday.'

The cachet (artwork on the envelope) repeats the self-portrait of Rubens, whose paintings captured the movement, color, and sensuality of the Baroque era.  Historic, collectible, this is one of several covers celebrating art from around the world offered by Wall Art Collectibles.

Double matted in  green & white, it will fit a standard 8 x 10 frame.  ***Certificate of Authenticity  Included***
