On September 16, 1998, the USPS issued a stamp to commemorate American Ballet, one of the beautiful stamps designed. Shown here is a genuine First Day Cover, an envelope with the new stamp cancelled from the city of issue (New York City) on the first day of issue captioned above. Note the special postmark created to cancel this stamp on the first day of issue.
The full-color cachet (artwork on the envelope) features a budding ballerina, having changed her jeans for leotard. The producer of this cover has written a brief commentary about ballet. We have included a copy for you.
Double matted in blue and white, it's sized to fit a standard 8 x 10 frame. *** Certificate of Authenticity Included***
