On July 19, 1997, the USPS issued a set of twenty stamps commemorating Classic American Aircraft. One of these was the B-47 Stratojet, the world's first swept-wing jet bomber. Shown here is a genuine First Day Cover, an envelope with the B-47 stamp cancelled from the city of issue (Dayton, Ohio) on the first day of issue (captioned above.)
The cachet (artwork on the envelope) features a full-color picture of the venerable B-47 whose history spanned 20 years. Collectible, historic, this is a great piece of aviation memorabilia.
Double matted in blue and white,, it's sized to fit a standard 8 x 10 frame. *** Certificate of Authenticity Included plus a blurb and a schematic drawing of the STRATOJET***
