Shown here is a beautiful full-color art print of the B-26 Marauder, "Flak Bait." Built by Martin this medium bomber first served in the Pacific in 1942. The one depicted in this print has the distinction of the 1st American aircraft to successfully complete 200 sorties riddled with over 1,000 holes from enemy fire.
We've joined this print with three uncancelled, collectible stamps. From left to right, the first is the 1957 stamp commemorating the 50th anniversary of the USAF from its inception as part of the Army Air Corps to 1947 when it became its own service branch. The middle stamp honors Billy Mitchell, considered the father of the modern Air Force. The stamp on the right commemorates the WWII Memorial in Washington DC, dedicated in 2004.
Matted in blue, we've sized this piece to fit a standard 11 x 14 frame. A short history of the B-26 is included.
