Bowdoin College....

On October 14, 1993, the USPS issued an imprinted postcard with the imprint or "stamp" commemorating the 200th Anniversary of Bowdoin College, chartered in 1794 and located in Brunswick, Maine. Shown here is a genuine First Day Cover, in this case a postcard with the imprint or "stamp" cancelled from the city of issue (Brunswick, ME) the first day of issue captioned above.

The cachet (artwork on the envelope) depicts Massachusetts Hall, the school's oldest building and the oldest college building in the state of Maine. Massachusetts Hall is also featured on the "stamp." The producer of this cover has also included a brief history of the university on the back; we have included a copy for you.

Double matted in blue & white, it's sized to fit a standard 8 x 10 frame.  ***CERTIFICATE OF AUTHENTICITY INCLUDED***
