On September 14, 1943, the USPS issued a stamp to commemorate the country of Belgium. In 1943 and 1944, the U.S. paid homage to thirteen countries that were overrun by Axis powers during WWII. Shown here is a genuine First Day Cover, an envelope with the new stamp cancelled from the city of issue (Washington, DC) on the first day of issue captioned above.
The black & white cachet (artwork on the envelope) features a scene from the capital Brussels.
Double matted in blue & white, it's sized to fit a standard 8 x 10 frame. ***Certificate of Authenticity Included***
