On July 19, 1997, the USPS issued a set of twenty stamps commemorating Classic American Aircraft, one of these being the 314 Clipper built by Boeing and flown by Pan Am. Shown here is a genuine First Day Cover of the new stamp cancelled from the city of issue (Dayton, Ohio) on the first day of issue captioned above.

The cachet (artwork on the envelope) features full-color artwork printed on silk of the 314 Clipper, the plane that in 1939 made the first scheduled transatlantic airmail flight and the first scheduled transatlantic passenger service.

Double matted in blue and white,, it's sized to fit a standard 8 x 10 frame.  ***Certificate of Authenticity Included***
