On July 17, 1989, the USPS honored America's 'larger than life' author Ernest Hemmingway.  Shown here is a genuine First Day Cover, an envelope with the full-color stamp of a portrait of Hemmingway set against the backdrop of the African plain, cancelled from the city of issue (Key West, FL) on the first day of issue captioned above.

The color cachet again depicts a portrait of Hemmingway, this time with a matador in the background symbolizing his covering of the Spanish Civil War, as well as a rising sun celebrating his first major novel, The Sun Also Rises.  The producer of this cover has also written a short commentary about the life of Hemmingway, one of the most influential authors of the 20th century.

Historic, collectible, it's double matted in  blue & white and will fit a standard 8 x 10 picture frame.  ***Certificate of Authenticity plus Commentary Included***
