On August 12, 2004, the USPS honored artist Martin Johnson Heade, known for his beautiful paintings of nature.  Shown here is a genuine First Day Cover, an envelope with Heade's stamp cancelled from the city of issue (Sacramento, Ca.) on the first day of issue captioned above.

The cachet (artwork on the envelope) features a full-color reproduction of Heade's painting of hummingbirds printed on silk.  Historic, collectible, this is a very personal gift for anyone who loves and appreciates the art of Martin Johnson Heade.

It's double matted in  blue & white and will fit a standard 8 x 10 picture frame.  ***Certificate of Authenticity Included***
