On August 7, 2003, the USPS issued a set of four stamps featuring the paintings of American Impressionist, Mary Cassatt, the only American artist invited to exhibit with the French Impressionists. Shown here is a genuine First Day Cover, an envelope with the complete series (all four stamps) cancelled from the city of issue (Columbus, Ohio) on the first day of issue captioned above.
The full-color cachet (artwork on the envelope) features a watercolor portrait of Cassatt. This cover has all the bells and whistles: a great cachet, unaddressed, and the complete series of four cancelled on the first day of issue. Historic, collectible, this is a very personal gift for anyone who loves and appreciates the art of Mary Cassatt.
It's double matted in green & white and will fit a standard 8 x 10 picture frame. ***Certificate of Authenticity***
