William Orlando Darby is credited with being the leader of the first American commando outfit called "the Rangers." His Rangers were patterned after and trained by British Commandoes. In WWII, Darby and his Rangers valiantly fought in Africa and Italy, where his units distinguished themselves for bravery.
The full-color cachet (artwork on the envelope) features a portrait of Darby, the Ranger emblem, and his troops landing on a beachhead. Also included is a short commentary of Darby's career. Historic, collectible, this is one of several pieces of WWII and U.S. Army Postal Memorabilia offered by Wall Art Collectibles.
Matted in military green, this is matted to fit a standard 8 x 10 frame. ***Certificate of Authenticity and Commentary Included***
