On September 7, 1984, the USPS issued a set of four stamps celebrating Eight Dog Breeds, seven of them American (can you guess which one isn't?) The Breeds are the Beagle, Boston Terrier, Chesapeake Bay Retriever, Cocker Spaniel, Alaskan Malamute, Collie, Black & Tan Coonhound and American Foxhound. Shown here is a genuine First Day Cover with the stamp for the Black & Tan Coonhound and the American Foxhound cancelled from the city of issue (New York City) on the first day of issue captioned above.
The full-color cachet (artwork on the envelope) features both hunting dogs... the Black & Tan Coonhound and the American Foxhound. The producer of this cover has also written a short commentary about each dog. We have included a copy for you.
Double matted in green & white, it's sized to fit a standard 8 x 10 picture frame. *** Certificate of Authenticity Included***
