On April 24, 1981, the USPS issued three stamps to celebrate America the Beautiful....Amber Waves of Grain...Purple Mountain Majesties....From Sea to Shining Sea. Shown here is a genuine First Day Cover, an envelope with all three stamps cancelled from the city of issue (Portland, Maine) on the first day of issue captioned above.
The full-color cachet (artwork on the envelope) features a bald eagle flying over the American heartland with the American Flag in the background. This is one of many pieces of postal stamp art celebrating the natural beauty of America. A short commemtary which is printed on the back of the envelope has been copied off and included.
Double matted in blue & white, it will fit a standard 8 x 10 picture frame. ***Certificate of Authenticity included***
