On July 19, 1997, the USPS issued a set of 20 different stamps commemorating Classic American Aircraft. Shown here is a genuine First Day Cover, an envelope with five of the twenty stamps cancelled from the city of issue (Dayton, Ohio) on the first day of issue (captioned above.) The five historic aircraft celebrated on this cover are: the Constellation, the Lightning, the Peashooter, the Jenny and the Wildcat.
The full-color cachet (artwork on the envelope) features five aircraft rendered in watercolors. This cover has all the bells and whistles - five historic stamps cancelled on the first day, a great cachet, and a cancellation from the birthplace of the Wright Brothers - it just doesn't get any better. If you're passionate about aviation, this is a piece of collectible art you'll be proud to display.
Double matted in blue & white, it's sized to fit a standard 8 x 10 frame. *** Certificate of Authenticity Included***
