Stearman Kaydet....
On July 19, 1997, the USPS issued a set of 20 stamps called Classic American Aircraft. One of these is the Stearman Kaydet. Shown here is a genuine First Day Cover, an envelope with the Stearman stamp cancelled from the city of issue (Dayton, Ohio) on the first day of issue (captioned above.)
The full-color cachet (artwork on the envelope) features a Stearman in flight. It's printed on silk, the luster lending an-almost three-dimensional look to the picture, surrounded by a gold-embossed border. This popular trainer for pilots in WWII was used extensively for crop dusting after the war. Collectible, historic, it's a frameable piece of aviation memorabilia.
Double matted in green & white, we've sized it to fit a standard 8 x 10 frame. ***Certificate of Authenticity Included***
