Shown here is a genuine First Day Cover for Admiralty Head in the state of Washington cancelled from the city of issue (Washington, DC) on the first day of issue captioned above.
The full-color cachet (artwork on the envelope) depicts this Spanish-style guardian of the east entrance to Admiralty Inlet and the Puget Sound. Though not in use since 1927, the restored lighthouse is a popular tourist attraction. The producer of this cover has written a short commentary of the history of this lighthouse...a copy has been made for you.
