In 1958 and 1959, the USPS issued four different stamps honoring Abraham Lincoln on the 150th anniversary of his birth on February 12, 1959.  The first stamp issued August 27, 1958, commemorates the Lincoln-Stephen Douglas Debates and shows them debating in a painting by Joseph Boggs Beale.  The second stamp, depicting a portrait of Lincoln by George Healy, was issued on his birthday in 1959.  The third stamp issued on February 27, 1959, shows a sculptured head of Lincoln by Gutzon Borglum.  The last stamp issued on May 30, 1959, features the statue of Lincoln in the Lincoln Memorial by Daniel Chester French. Shown here is a Combo - a genuine First Day Cover for the blue 4 cents stamp issued on May 30, 1959.  The three older stamps were added to this spectacular, oversized envelope and cancelled along with the afore-mentioned May 30, 1959 stamp. Note the special cancellation postmark depicting the Lincoln Memorial, designed expressly to cancel this stamp on its 'birthday.'

The cachet (artwork on the envelope produced by private companies, not the Post Office) features five scenes of Lincoln's life and death....Lincoln, the "Rail Splitter," Lincoln on a flatboat, the Lincoln Tomb and Monument in Springfield, the Lincoln Statue by St. Gaudens in New Hampshire, and his Birthplace Memorial in Hodgenville, Kentucky.

This is a beautiful cover, in excellent condition, honoring our beloved 16th President.  It's double matted in blue and white and is sized to fit a standard 11x14 frame.  ***Certificate of Authenticity Included***
