On January 25,1985, the USPS issued a stamp honoring Abraham Baldwin, founder of the American State University System and the University of Georgia.  The stamp also commemorates the 200th anniversary of the University. Shown here is a genuine First Day Cover, an envelope with the new stamp cancelled from the city of issue (Athens, GA) on the first day of issue captioned above.

The cachet (artwork on the envelope) features a portrait of Baldwin and the campus of the University of Georgia in its formative years.

Double matted in blue & white, it's sized to fit a standard 8 x 10 frame.  ***CERTIFICATE OF AUTHENTICITY INCLUDED***
