American Bison... On February 25, 1985, the
USPS issued a stamp to commemorate the American Bison. Shown
here is a genuine First Day Cover for the Bison "stamp" (an
imprint is considered a stamp) cancelled from the city of issue
(Bison, S.D.) on the first day of issue captioned above.
The full-color cachet
(artwork on the envelope) features a handsome bull being hunted by a
Native American on horseback. The picture is printed on silk with a
border of embossed 'gold. Historic, collectible, unaddressed, this
cover with its beautiful art makes a great gift for anyone who loves the
buffalo.
Double Matted in dark green
& white, it's sized to fit a standard
