Alice Paul.... On August 18, 1995, the USPS issued a stamp to honor the woman who was instrumental in getting the 19th Amendment passed...Alice Paul. Shown here is a genuine FIRST DAY COVER, an envelope with the new stamp cancelled from the City of Issue (Mount Laurel, NJ) on the First Day of Issue captioned above.
The full color cachet (artwork on the envelope) features a portrait of Alice Paul, Lawyer, Suffragist, and Equal Rights Advocate
and a band of suffragettes in the background with a placard that
reads, "No Nation Can Rise Above the Level of its Womanhood." It's
printed on silk with an embossed gold border.
Double matted in blue & white, it's sized to fit a standard 8 x 10 frame. ***Certificate of Authenticity plus Commentary Included*** |
