On May 30, 1992, the USPS issued a stamp commemorating the 50th Anniversary of the Alaska Highway, a 1500 mile road from Dawson Creek, B.C. to Fairbanks, Alaska. Shown here is a genuine First Day Cover, an envelope with the full-color stamp, depicting the highway stretching out in front with majestic mountains in the background, cancelled from the city of issue (Fairbanks, AK) on the first day of issue captioned above.
The black & white cachet (artwork on the envelope produced by a private company, not the post office) repeats the theme that's on the stamp.
Double matted in blue & white, it's sized to fit a standard 8x10 frame. ***Certificate of Authenticity Included***
