On April 4, 2002, the USPS issued a set of 50 stamps commemorating each state in postcard format. Shown here is a genuine First Day Cover, an envelope with the full-color stamp for the state of Alabama depicting the State Capitol in Montgomery, the State Flower - camellia, and the USS Alabama cancelled from the city of issue (New York, NY - all 50 stamps were cancelled from NY) on the first day of issue captioned above.
The full-color cachet (artwork on the envelope produced by a private company, not the post office) shows a photograph of Alabama's Space Center in Huntsville, and the USS Alabama and submarine Drum. A small commentary is printed below each picture.
Double matted in blue & white, it's sized to fit a standard 8x10 frame. ***Certificate of Authenticity Included***
