On October 8, 1993, the USPS issued a stamp commemorating the African Violet.  Shown here is a genuine First Day Cover, an envelope with the stamp, depicting the Saintpaulia in full bloom, cancelled from the city of issue (Beaumont, TX) on the first day of issue captioned above.

The full-color cachet (artwork on the envelope) features a charming print of an African Violet with African Violet leaf-flower border.  The producer of this cover has written a brief commentary about this popular houseplant.  We've included a copy.

Double matted in green and white, it's sized to fit a standard 8 x 10 frame.  ***Certificate of Authenticity plus Commentary Included***
